Here are 24 positive Christian birth affirmations to empower you through labor whether you choose to have a natural or medicated delivery.
It’s so hard to believe that next month is baby month. This is my third pregnancy and while unexpected, I’ve had a pretty great experience outside of developing gestational diabetes, but I digress.
Like my last two labor and delivery experiences, I’ll be having a medicated, hospital birth. Before having kids, I thought I would go the all-natural, at-home route, but my pain tolerance is so low. I’m a complete baby when Aunt Flow visits so I can only imagine how a natural birth would feel. Plus, I’m considered high-risk due to gestational diabetes, so a hospital birth is the safest option for the baby and me.
This time around, I plan to do a few things differently though such as hiring a birth photographer to document my labor and delivery experience, using Christian birth affirmations to help me remain at peace once it’s time to give birth, and wearing my own clothes throughout my entire stay to make things a bit more magical.

What are birth affirmations?
Birth affirmations are a natural pain relief system. According to Mind Body Baby, a hypnobirthing website, “When we affirm something positive, it creates belief within the subconscious mind, thus making it more achievable as a goal.”
It’s amazing how much our body and mind are connected and if we go into labor with the mindset that it’ll be traumatic, that’s likely how it’ll turn out. Luckily we have the choice to change that narrative by using birth affirmations to help empower us through labor to deliver a healthy baby.
Do Christian birth affirmations really work?
No matter how you plan to give birth, birth can be physically, emotionally, and mentally exhausting. That’s why I am using birth affirmations this time. Christian birth affirmations to be exact.
As I dive deeper into my relationship with God, I’ve discovered that there is so much power in the tongue. The words we speak and the thoughts we have both have a huge impact on our day-to-day lives, which is why I plan to use Christian birth affirmations to help me naturally control how I feel and my experience with the pain caused by labor and delivery. Affirmations in and of themselves are great for your mental health.
Contrary to popular belief, your mindset plays a huge role in your experience with labor and delivery. By speaking positivity into the atmosphere, your approach to such a tough, yet beautiful experience, will help you believe that you are indeed capable of hard things.
