The Ordinary skin care products
My goals for 2023 are set, and I’ve already started working toward them. One of them is to create a solid skincare routine. I know it may be hard to believe, but I have done a horrible job taking care of my skin. I did some research, aka browsed TikTok, and found some pregnancy-safe skincare products that would work great for my combination oily/dry skin. I’ve been using The Ordinary for a few weeks now, and I love the way it leaves my skin glowing.
iPhone 14 Pro Max
As a content creator, I take a lot of photos and videos, and I recently updated to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. I typically like to upgrade my phone every other year because the technology doesn’t change too much year-to-year. I recently dropped and cracked my iPhone 12 Pro Max phone, so it was time for an upgrade. Plus, once the baby comes, I know I’ll want to capture so many sweet moments with the kids.
Maternity photoshoot
Most likely, this will be my last pregnancy, so I want to document it as much as possible. I was unable to do a maternity shoot when I was pregnant with Jaxon because we were in the thick of the pandemic, but it was high on my priority list this time around. I took my photos last week with Carolennys Studios and they came out amazing. I can’t wait to share them with you all.

Stanley Tumbler
The thirst is real when it comes to pregnancy and postpartum, so it’s time for me to upgrade my water cup. The Stanley 40 oz. tumbler is highly rated in all the mom groups on Facebook, and I can’t wait to test it out. I love that it includes a straw and handle, making it so easy to carry back and forth to work and when I am out with the kids.
Postpartum Recovery Kit
I used the Frida Mom postpartum recovery kit after I gave birth to Jaxon in 2020, and it was the best thing ever! I know most hospitals give out similar items, but they honestly don’t compare. The angled-neck peri bottle is a must-have. The ice packs and witch hazel liners are also must-haves for the first few days post-delivery. And, I love that the packaging doubles as a box to set up a little station in the bathroom to keep everything organized. It’s worth every penny. Note: if mom needs to have a C-section, there is a separate postpartum kit available complete with the goodies needed for healing.
Made by Mary Ray Bar Necklace
I received this beautiful necklace a few years ago for Christmas with Jade and Jaxon’s names and it is so sweet. I’m a sucker for personalized items. During a breastfeeding session, Jaxon popped my necklace, and I haven’t had a chance to get it fixed. Since we’re waiting until birth to find out the gender, this will make a great Valentine’s Day/birthday gift. I’ll just order a new necklace with the baby’s name and then add on the bars for Jade and Jaxon. I love how easy it is to customize.
Body pillow
Now that I’m in the third trimester, getting comfy at night has become harder and harder. I find myself tossing and turning all night. I had a body pillow with both Jaxon and Jade, but I tried to do without one this time. I’ve held out long enough. I didn’t realize just how much using a body pillow makes a difference.
Hatch Restore
I was introduced to the Hatch Rest when I had Jaxon and I credit it 100% to his amazing sleeping habits since birth. We also had a Hatch Restore, but Jade begged to keep it in her room and of course, we gave in. Now, I need one again to help me unwind with ease at the end of the day.
Maternity & Nursing Pajama Set
I work from home a few days a week, and I’ll be spending a lot of downtime at home once the baby arrives. And nothing beats a pair of cozy pajamas. I already have a few maternity and nursing-friendly pajama sets from Kindred Bravely from when I had Jaxon a few years ago, but you can never have too many.
Plush robe
I just became a robe girl a few years ago. I have a few bamboo robes and my husband gifted me a SKIMS Velour Wrap Robe for Christmas, and I have worn it just about every day since. Plush robes are a great addition to any collection for a cozier experience after a shower and to use while in the hospital because it can get chilly in there.
Towel Warmer
Imagine having a spa-like experience every time you step out of the shower. That’s the simple, yet luxurious feeling a towel warmer gives. I told y’all I’m prioritizing self-care next year. I got my mom one a few years ago for Christmas and she absolutely loves it.
Native body wash
I recently switch from Dove body wash to Native and I absolutely love it. I love that there are so many scents to choose from. It lathers so nicely and doesn’t leave my skin dry. Another plus is that it’s made from ingredients that are safe for expectant moms.
Roomba robot vacuum
In an effort to keep the house tidy daily with such limited hours, I want another robot vacuum. We used to have one and I miss running it nightly.
Spa day
Nothing beats a relaxing spa day. I recently had a prenatal massage, and I’ve started back getting regular manicures and pedicures in an effort to keep myself looking presentable.
Car wash subscription
I’m sure all the moms can relate when I say that keeping your car clean with kids is so hard. Add in extracurricular activities and it gets worst between trash and all the toys that seem to make it out of the house and into the car daily. A car wash subscription is a must. Plus, the kids absolutely love going through the car wash and it makes for a fun afternoon activity complete with a complimentary vacuum. Win-win!
Meal service subscription
Raise your hand if you hate grocery shopping and meal planning. I’m sure my hand isn’t the only one up. I’ve used a meal service subscription in the past and it helps make getting dinner on the table that much quicker. I’m all for implementing services that make my life easier, and a subscription service like HelloFresh is high on my list.
Take the guesswork out of dinner and try HelloFresh today. Use my code “THETRAPPHAUS14” to get up to 14 free meals across your 5 boxes with HelloFresh! Visit this link for more details!
Gift cards
You can never go wrong with gift cards and I absolutely love to receive them whether for a restaurant, Target, Amazon, or a Vanilla gift card that can be used practically anywhere.

5-minute journal
I received one of these journals last year, and I misplaced it during the move. I absolutely love this journal, and it’s an essential part of my morning routine. Finally establishing a morning routine is another 2023 intention of mine. Mornings aren’t typically my favorite, but I find when I start with a solid routine my day goes along much smoother.
Essential Oil Diffuser
This is my favorite essential oil diffuser, I also misplaced it in the move, so I want to replace it. Nothing makes a home cozier than a nice smell.
Loopy phone case
I absolutely can’t get a new phone without getting a new case. As moms, we’re constantly lugging and juggling so many things, and my phone is usually the item that ends up on the floor. Hence, my phone that’s currently cracked. The Loopy case is another item that comes highly recommended in all the mom circles, so I want to try it out and see if it’ll actually make my life that much easier.
I hope this blog post gave you a few gift ideas to help make shopping for the new or expecting mom in your life much easier!
